World Mission

It has been pretty full on since coming back to Kiwoko at the beginning of December. Here are a few of the things that have been occupying our time lately—

Hospital Finances

Like elsewhere in the world a lot of talk has been given over to world finances, new terms like credit crunch have entered the Kiwoko vocabulary.

For us we want to thank you for your continued support. It is most encouraging how people have continued to give to the work at Kiwoko even in the midst of difficulties.

In fact our support has held very strong. Our biggest problem in fact has not been the lack of support but the weakness of sterling. Half our support comes from outside and most comes in sterling. The local equivalent that we have received has fallen by about a third in the first six months of this year. This has caused huge strains on the hospital finances and we continue to look at ways of cutting costs.

Mission Team

Mission is the heartbeat of Kiwoko - it is of course a Mission Hsopital. The specific mission activities at Kiwoko continue strongly under the guidance of Shadrach Lukwago.

During the last few months another Church Leaders Conference took place - this time 800 people were present. During this week Craig Dyer and Steven Sizer came representing Christianity Explored (CE) and a new Luganda version of CE was officially launched in Uganda.

Recently whilst travelling about 200 miles away we got talking to a waiter and somehow we got round to the fact that he was going through CE in his church. We asked him how many were attending and he casually replied ‘about 200’.

Dear Friends,

We thought you might like to see a short video of the work going on at Kiwoko. The video was taken by Kate who visited Kiwoko recently and has made her video available on You Tube. Here is the link and hope you enjoy seeing a bit of life here at Kiwoko.

God bless,

Ken & Judith
